About Dr. White

Dr. M. Jeffrey White provides a diverse background in medical practice with experience in military and public health care systems. He is presently Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthamology at the University of South Florida School of Medicine and has been research physician of the Scherring Pharmaceutical Company. He received his undergraduate training at the University of Louisville, Kentucky; a master's degree in Anthropology at the University of Chicago and his medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
He then did his graduate work in Ophthamology at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. His residency in Ophthamology was performed at the Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania.
He has received post graduate training at the School of Aviation Medicine at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, and the School of Air Force Medicine, Gunter Air Force Base, Alabama. He is a graduate of the Air War College. He served as a flight surgeon and Ophthalmologist in active military duty.
After resigning active duty status he remained on active reserve duty as an Air Force Medical officer attaining the rank of colonel. His reserve medical assignments relate to his status of Senior Flight Surgeon (administrative and occupation medicine). He has numerous command positions including Commanding Officer, 22 Medical Service Squadron, Malcolm Grow Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, D.C. He was surgeon of the Fourteenth Air Force, and finally MA to the Command Surgeon, Air Force Reserve. He is a member of numerous scientific, medical, and social organizations. His private practice in Tampa combines both Ophthamology and Environmental Medicine. He developed and organized the first Enviro-Med Bio-Toxic Reduction Clinic.
